House rental in Vitoio, Italy

We rent our small rustic house in Tuscany by the week May through September. High in the hills overlooking the Mediterranean, the house is situated in the tiny village of Vitoio. The nearest town is historic Pietrasanta: a renowned haven to sculptors from all over the world, nestled beneath the marble quarries of Carrara.

Due to the house's quiet hilltop location, renting a car is a neccessity for a stay in Vitoio. Having a car makes it easy to explore the region's famous cities and hill towns - most a short distance from the village of Vitoio. Tour the picturesque landscapes that grace the Tuscan countryside. Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Cinque Terre, Volterra and San Guimignano are all day trips, within 1.5 hour drives from the house. Siena is about 2 hours by car, and Venice makes a nice weekend trip, 4 hours away by train.


Enjoy the Simplicity.

The house is comfortable and charming, suitable for a couple or a couple with up to two children. There are two bedrooms, a large bath, a simple but well-equipped kitchen with a large fireplace as well as beautiful outdoor terraces. There is a short walk up a stone path to the house (approximately 50 yards), so if you're shy of a little daily exercise the house may not be for you. If however, you are a bit adventurous and yearning for a beautiful private spot in the Tuscan countryside - you've found it, off the beaten-track!
