TONNER DOLLS

Tonner Dolls website

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As Creative Director at the digital services and content development firm 33Delivered I designed this website for the Tonner Doll Company. The website objectives were to act as the face of Tonner to the world, to sell Tonner product, to serve as the one-stop resource for info on all past and present Tonner products, and to act as a hub for the extremely active Tonner Doll collector community.

The primary target audiences are current and prospective doll collectors, and the key message is that the Tonner Doll Company is an artist-driven company that produces the highest quality contemporary and unique fashion dolls and comic, movie and TV-inspired character figures.

The tone and manner I was striving for is chic and sophisticated, clean and clear, fanciful and imaginative, inviting, engaging, entertaining, informative and interactive.

Since Robert Tonner's background is in fashion I strove to bring that forward in the design of the site, to make it feel a bit high-fashion to emphasize the quality of these collectibles. At the top you'll see the final approved design, and below you'll see a couple of the original designs shown in the first round design presentation. Originally we were going to use a dynamic lead to introduce each main product line, but we ended up wanting to show more product at first glance, thus the final approach.
